Impressive 12-1 win for Germany over the Czech Republic (w)

20/07/2014 – The German girls scored early on in the match and continue to do so throughout the entire game. However, the Czech Republic’s team did not give up easily and continued to play strong against the Germans. The Czechs were able to get a stroke and score. The match ends in an impressive 12-1 score in favour of the Germans. Germany’s Vivien Tahal is the German top scorer with 4 goals.

Dutch open strongly against the hosts Belgium 

20/07/2014 – Host Belgium took on reigning European Champion the Netherlands in their opening match at the Fintro Junior EuroHockey Championships 2014. The Netherlands clearly had the upper hand and dominated the game, especially during the first half. The Dutch girls were very dangerous and had a lot of chances, but they had trouble turning their scoring opportunities into goals. They could only score one of their 11 awarded penalty corners. Belgian goalie Elena Sotgiu also kept the Netherlands from scoring with some great saves. Pleun Van Der Plas scored the only goal of the first half. Three minutes into the second half Lisanne de Lange doubled the Dutch lead on PC. Manon Simons quickly scored the 2-1, which brought Belgium a little more in the game. Maria Verschoor finished of a nice solo action with the third goal for the Netherlands
