SV Arminen defended both the womens and mens titles at the Austrian Raiffeisen Final Four 2014.
In front of a packed Hockeystadion in Vienna the Arminen-Men had no problems with HC Wien in the semifinal, winning 5:2 and going to the final against NAVAX AHTC, who in turn dominated v VeriFone WAC, winning 7:3.
In the final defending champion Arminen took the lead early on with league-topscorer Patrick Schmidt scoring the 1:0. NAVAX AHTCs Dominik Monghy pulled one back with an incredible solo-effort just before half-time. After the break Arminen took the lead again with an unlucky own-goal from AHTC-goalie Lukas Graser. When Lennard Gerhmann only hit the post in the 58th minute and Arminens Michael Minar scored the 3:1 on the other end of the pitch, the game was decided. Daniel Fröhlich hammered a backhand in the top of the net with less than two minutes to go to make it a deserved 4:1 victory, the Austrian Championship and a spot in the EHL in 2014/2015.
Earlier in the day the Arminen women did the same thing. Having had no problems against HC Weloc Wels in the semifinal (5:1), the defending champion was up against Post SV, who beat NAVAX AHTC by 2:1 in the semi. But Post was no match for Arminen, also missing their top-forward Martha Laginja. Four minutes into the game Lisa Steyrer scored the first goal, only six minutes later league-topscorer Katarzyna Krasinska made it 2:0. With Catherine Lenzinger scoring the 3:0 before halftime, the game was over for Post SV. Lea Fleischhacker scored one more for Arminen, making it 4:0 in the 44th minute which also was the final score.
Lisa Steyrer (SV Arminen) was voted as the Best Player of the Final Four, clubmate Sebastian Eitenberger was honoured in the men’s event. Post SVs Maria Wächter got the trophy for Best Goalkeeper, Michael Zdrojewski was the Best Goalkeeper in the male event.
