Host Belgium started fiercely and pinned the Russian team in their half. After only 2 minutes Belgium was awarded a PC and Elise DAUW scored the early opening goal for Belgium. After the goal the energy left the game a bit and the action was mostly concentrated on the midfield. In the final minute of the first half Russia was awarded two pc’s. On the first PC Russia tried to score with a variation but couldn’t score and were awarded a second PC. As the Belgian defense expected the Russian team to use the same variation again they didn’t run out very far. This gave the Elena VAVILOVA the time to shoot and score. Half time score 1-1.

Belgium was in ball possession but they had difficulties passing the Russian defense. Half way the second half Belgium upped their pressure and speed op play and put pressure in the Russian D. The effort payed of and Belgium was awarded 2 PC’s in 2 minutes, and both were scored by Manon SIMONS and Emma PUVREZ. Russia didn’t back down and had a few fast counters but they couldn’t finish off their attacks. In the 67th minute Tiphaine Duquesne put the final 4-1 score with another goal on PC.
