Competitions Committee Outdoor and Indoor

The Competitions Committee Outdoor exists of 13 persons with the chair being Bjorn Isberg (SWE). The committee meets twice a year, once in early March and once in early September.
The Competitions Committee Indoor exists of 12 persons with the chair being Walter Kapounek (AUT) and the secretary being Casper Guldbrandsen (DEN). The committee meets once a year, in early May and in November/December the committee meets online.
The committees make recommendations to the EHF Executive Board on where EuroHockey Championship events should be held (senior, junior and youth) and decides where club events will be held.

Outdoor club events
Every year in the Whitsun weekend EHF hold its outdoor club events. Mostly Friday-Monday, but sometimes Thursday-Sunday. The event lasts 4 days. 2 women’s club teams and 2 men’s teams each National Association (NA) can enter.
The entry deadline is 15 July in the year preceding the competition and the withdrawal deadline is 31 October in the year preceding the competition.
The host is decided mid-September in the year preceding the competition.

Outdoor Championship events
Every year in summer EHF hold its outdoor Championship events. Depending on the number of teams, but the event normally lasts 6-7 days (U16 Hockey5s last 3-4 days). 1 women’s team and 1 men’s team each NA can enter.

In 2017-2019-2021 the outdoor U16 Hockey5s events are played and
In 2018-2020-2022 the outdoor U18 events are played.
The entry deadline is 31 October two years preceding the year of competition and the withdrawal deadline is 15 January of the year of the event.
The host is decided mid-March two years preceding the year of competition.

Indoor club events
Every year in February EHF hold its indoor club events. Always Friday-Sunday. The event lasts 3 days. 1 women’s club team and 1 men’s team each NA can enter.
The entry deadline is 15 April in the year preceding the competition and the withdrawal deadline is 31 August in the year preceding the competition.
The host is decided mid-May in the year preceding the competition.

Indoor Championship events
Every year in January EHF hold its indoor Championship events. Always Friday-Sunday. The event lasts 3 days. 1 women’s team and 1 men’s team each NA can enter. In 2017-2019-2021 the indoor Junior (U21) events are played and in 2018-2020-2022 the indoor senior events.
The entry deadline is 15 April two years preceding the year of competition and the withdrawal deadline is 30 June of the preceding year.
The host is decided mid-June two years preceding the year of competition.

Ages
In club events a player has to be minimum 15 years of age on the first day of the tournament.
In senior nations events a player has to be minimum 15 years of age on the first day of the tournament.
In junior nations events a player has to be minimum 15 years of age on the first day of the tournament AND players must be born on, or after, the dates in the table below.
In U18 nations events a player has to be minimum 13 years of age on the first day of the tournament AND players must be born on, or after, the dates in the table below.
In U16 nations events a player has to be minimum 13 years of age on the first day of the tournament AND players must be born on, or after, the dates in the table below.

Match times
At Outdoor Championship events (Senior, Junior and U18) the match time is 4 x 15 minutes.
At Outdoor Championship events (U16 Hockey5s) the match time is 3 x 10 minutes.
At Outdoor Club events (EHL and EHCC) the match time is 4 x 15 minutes.
At Outdoor Club events (Trophy and Challenge) the match time is 4 x 15 minutes.
At Indoor events (Championship Senior/Junior and Clubs) the match time is 2 x 20 minutes.
