18th July 2017: Yesterday was the second day of the EuroHockey Junior Championship II in Saint-Petersburg.

Ukraine v Turkey 3:3

Goals:  Mazurkevych, Bielozerov(p.c.), Kovalenko –  Demirel(p.c.), Alta, Bankoglu

It was a meeting of two equal opponents. The lead swung between the two teams. In the end, the Ukrainians tried to snatch victory, but luck was on the side of the Turkish team and the match ended in a draw 3:3. Speaking after the game Turkey’s midfielder Ozkilic Ali Akin said “We played well, but we’re not satisfied with the result. We wanted to win.” 

Onishenko Sergiy, manager of Ukraine said – “The guys gave their all today, now we’ll prepare for the next one to win.”  Asked who is the strongest contender in this Championship he replied “I think, the contenders for the victory at this Championship – the French national team and Polish. I think they will play for the first and second place. Our team will try to take place in the top four.” 

Czech Republic  v France 1:4

Goals:  Kasl(p.c.) – Coffigniez (2 p.c.), Esmenjaud (2,1-p.s.)

Fabien Pourcelet, assistant coach of France U-21 said “We’re very happy to win! And now we began to prepare for the next match. It’s very important for us to improve for the rest of the game.”

Plochy Lukas, player, Czech Republic said” The game was very different today, because French team is a very hard opponent. We saw yesterday’s match against Ukraine and they played very well. We will keep optimistic mood and looking forward for new games.”
