1st June 2017: With only hours before the start of  the EHCC here in HC ‘s Hertogenbosch we caught up with two of the biggest stars of the home team!

Lidewij Welten and Margot told us what it’s like to play at home for ‘Den Bosch’

Margot – It’s a privilege and a lot of fun to be playing with some of my best friends against great hockey clubs from all over Europe” Lidewij added “It’s an honor to play in the black and yellow colors, every time again. In Dutch we say:  the desert of our competition, and we are girls so all love desserts!”

On being at home Lidewij said “ We always go for the win, doesn’t matter against who we play or where we play. At home ground is extra special tho, would be great to win it in our own stadium.”

These are definitely ‘dog’  people, with Sem and the new puppy Stitch arriving recently!

Margot is the DJ in the changing room, her all time favourite song? To be with you, Mr.Big.

Hockey tricks? Well have a look below and see these guys in training, they make it look easy!

Their message to young female players, both agreed it’s about training hard, but having fun and as Lidewij said  “How cool is it you try to get the best out of yourself an others surrounded by friends.”

When we asked them why would a non-fan of hockey watch hockey, Margot laid down a challenge… “I would say: just come to one of our matches and have a look for yourself!”

There’s an extra dimension to this weekend where the legends Ellen Hoog (AH&BC) and Maartje Paumen (Den Bosch) will play for the last time, so there’s no way any fan or someone new to hockey would be disappointed with that challenge!
