The Top Coaches Programme (TCP) coaches met for the first time this year in Eindhoven, The Netherlands (13 – 16 April), alongside the EHL KO16.

19 Coaches from across Europe joined mentors Dave Passmore,  Robin Roesch, Grahame Mansell Grace, Michel Kinnen and EHF Education and Development Manager Norman Hughes for a weekend of sharing knowledge. Guest speaker and sports scientist Andreas Prause also took part in the seminar.

The coaches began the seminar with a presentation on Meaning and the Power of Team identity. Each coach then had some time with his/her respective mentor to plan the year ahead. Following a group dinner, each coach gave a presentation.

The next morning began with practical sessions. Each mentor had previously given the coaches a topic for them to then create a practical session to deliver to the group.
Following lunch, another presentation by guest speakers: Ingredients for High Performance Squad success.

Following the classroom presentation, the group headed to Oranje-Rood to watch Grundwald v Polo and KHB Dragons and RRC Brussels and do some match analysis. A dinner at the clubhouse was followed by a third match, SV Kampong v Rot Weiss Koln.

Saturday morning began with feedback on the coaches’ match analysis from the previous evening, followed by practical sessions. More matches in the afternoon and analysis concluded the day.

The last day saw the group once again receive feedback on their match analysis and corresponding plans and one last practical session before everyone headed home.

EHF would like to thank HC Oranje-Rood for their warm welcome and the mentors and guest speakers for their time and commitment.
