All EHF Member Associations have recently received correspondance from the EHF Office with instructions on how to apply to our programmes for the next cycle. Read on to learn about our programmes, and ask your federation to apply!

Today, we bring you a series of short interviews from last August in our seminar in Breda, the Netherlands. Our very own Education and Development Manager Norman Hughes brings us an overview of our Coach development pathway.

What is available? The Three Tier Approach

Our Educational programmes function on a three tier structure to train and support our members’ coaches.  Each tier is tied to the FIH Academy, so your coach gains not just experience and knowledge, but also the required competences as set out in the Academy programme.

Top Coaches Programme (TCP) is a 2 year programme and targets at the coaches close to or working with your National teams (any age group). TCP offers 2 seminars per year and 3 online webinars. Coaches completing the programme will be assessed for FIH Academy Level 3. Deadline for applications in December 31st, 2016.

Coaches for Europe (C4E) is a 2 year programme and targets coaches working in your key clubs especially in the area of youth development. Coaches completing the programme will be assessed for FIH Academy Level 2. Deadline for applications in December 31st, 2016.

Norbert Nederlof is one of the creators and designers of the Coaches 4 Europe programme.  In this next short video, he explains the focus and intentions behind the programme, which focuses on basic skill development and basic tactical strategies.

Supporting National Growth (SNG) is an annual programme which aims to support new coaches and help develop your national association. Deadline for Applications is February 24th, 2017.

Hear from the participants – An inside view

Coaches 4 Europe coaches Carl Ramagge (GIB) and Tatjana Dimitrieska (BUL) tell us about their experience with the programme. They both bring us a perspective from smaller hockey associations  and how exposure to experienced mentors and participants from different backgrounds helps their development. Sharing knowledge and challenging one another is one of the strongest assets on the programme.
