The first 2 games of the day were to determine not only the 5-8 placings but in addition which teams would be staying in the Division
in 2015.
10:00C 4A Hockey Club Valenciennes – East Grinstead HC 3B 4-5 (0-2)
First up were the hosts East Grinstead v HC Valenciennes, France. Mark Pearn would certainly have won man of the match with a hat trick of goals, his first 2 in the 3rd and 20th minute, and that was the score at half time. Pearn was on fire this morning and scored his third goal in the 24th minute and it looked like EG would cruise the game, however the French worked their way back into the game.

11:10C 3A Kolos-Sekvoya Vinnitsa – Partille SC 4B 4-8 (0-4)
Partille SC played their best hockey of the Tournament going 4-0 ahead with reply in the first half. A sucession of passes of play resulting in an exchange of goals, the French but Partille were never in danger of losing this game and their positive play ensured them a place in the EuroHockey Indoor Championships in 2015.

13:003/4 LSF1 C.H. SPV Complutense – Racing Club de Bruxelles LSF2 4-4 (3-2) 1-2 SO
The 3/4 play off was a cracking game. Complutense got off to the better start and went 3-0 up in the first 5 minutes. The Belgians were patient and worked their way back into the game, goals from Rickli and Charlier brought the score to 3-2 at half time. A feisty second half with even small errors being punished was 4-3 to Complutense until the 40th minute when a penalty corner was awarded to Racing and they converted via Cornille. And we went to a shoot out! The Belgian keeper Gucassof saved 2 and earned his team a Bronze medal, a first for the club.

14:30Final WSF1 Dinamo Yekaterinburg – Harvestehuder THC WSF2 4-10 (2-5)
The much anticipated Final was an excellent display of indoor hockey befitting of the Tournament! An open, end to end game. Johan Bjorkman, Harvestehuder opened the scoring after 6 minutes. A minute later Heuer doubled their lead, but Ekaterinburg’s Lykov scored a lovely goal to take the game to the Germans. The score then went to 3-1, 3-2, but the German’s scored 2 quick goals in the 17th and 18th minute to stretch the lead to 5-2 at half time. The second began with and early goal from Koehler to make it 6-2. Dinamo pushed hard to get back into the game, but the Germans thwarted the Russia attacks, and in the 24th minute the top scorer of the Tournament Johan Bjorkman scored his 3rd of the game and put the game beyond the reach of Ekaterinburg. The Russians however continued to play and were rewarded with 2 goals bringing the score line closer to 4-7. With their keeper off the Russians were vunerable and conceded 3 more in quick succession to bring the final score to a 10-4 and an emphatic win for the best team here.
