It is with regret that Scottish Hockey announces the resignation of Brent Deans, Chief Executive Officer, Scottish Hockey, effective from 30 June 2011.

Following sixteen years service with the organisation, including the positions of Director of Hockey, Performance Manager and Chief Executive Officer, Brent has decided to return to Australia with his family and will be leaving Scotland later this year.

Commenting on his impending departure, Deans said, “It has been a tremendous experience to have worked with Scottish Hockey and I’ve really enjoyed my time living in Scotland. However, I feel it is the right time for both my family and I to return to Australia and I think I leave the organisation in good shape for the future. I would like to thank both current and previous staff members for their hard work and support over the years, and those members and volunteers who continue to play such a vital role in hockey development and helping to run the sport.”

In making the announcement today, Lee Cousins, Scottish Hockey President said, “I would sincerely like to thank Brent for his commitment and dedication to Scottish Hockey over the last sixteen years. He has been a real asset to the organisation in the roles he has performed for the governing body. Brent has made a significant contribution to the sport during his time in Scotland and I’m sure that I speak for a great number of people involved in hockey when we wish him and his family well on his return to Australia.”

Cousins continued, “The Board of Directors has now commenced the process of recruiting a new Chief Executive Officer as a priority for the organisation and we are committed to ensuring that the transition will be managed effectively to ensure that the sport continues to run efficiently for our members.”

Scottish Hockey will now begin the recruitment process for accepting applications, interviewing candidates and appointing a new CEO to the organisation. A job description and outline of the application process is now available on the Scottish Hockey website.
