The EHF is deeply saddened to report the recent passing of Viktoria Us, EHF Order of Merit (2008) and former Secretary-General of the Ukraine Hockey Federation (1993-2016).
Viktoria was instrumental in the rebirth of hockey in Ukraine especially after the fall of the Soviet Union. Not only did she devote her time to hockey but also to the development of people. She always struggled to ensure justice and supported people who wanted to develop hockey in Ukraine. She was a true colleague to those who worked with her, a huge support to her friends and most importantly a fantastic mother to her daughter Luliia who follows in her footsteps volunteering as an EHF Judge.
The EHF President, Marijke Fleuren said “We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing away of Viktoria.
For us, Viktoria was one of a kind. As a Secretary-General of Ukraine Hockey, she was the EquallyAmazing woman avant la lettre. In a time when women were often overlooked as leaders, she stood out as a powerful woman who dedicated her life to Ukraine hockey. We have passed on the condolences of the European hockey family to Luliia, reminding her that her mother will be fondly remembered and that her legacy continues in Ukraine hockey.”
