The EHF noted that 33 National Associations were in attendance.

The EHF President Marijke Fleuren, welcomed all Member Associations, Executive Board Members, Members of Honour (Monika Spork, Jorge Alcover, Jan Vymazal, Leonardas Čaikauskas and Gianni Rossi), Diploma of Merit holders and special guests from Albanian Hockey and Albanian National Olympic Committee to our first-ever virtual General Assembly.

Marijke delivered the 2020 President’s Report, which despite the obvious difficulties has been a success in many ways for the European Hockey Federation.

She reflected on the great 2019 EuroHockey Indoor events and updated on various projects that the EHF managed and will continue to develop during Covid-19 crisis time. (Webinars, online education courses etc)

She highlighted that the theme for this General Assembly is “Reflect, Revise, Ready for 2021” which mirrored what the EHF is doing.

Marijke summed up saying “Whilst 2020 has been a challenging year for the European Hockey Federation and our Members, I would like to personally thank our Board, our Staff, our Committee Members and indeed all those working for hockey around Europe, especially in our clubs. We are sure that our combined efforts will ensure that hockey will continue to be a wonderful sport for our members to enjoy long after the challenges that COVID19 has presented.”

The EHF accounts were approved for 2019 and the two scenarios of the 2021 Budget were also approved, along with the proposal to keep the subscriptions for 2021 and 2022 the same as for 2020.

Tom Pederson-Smith (Development and Education Manager), Siobhán Madeley (Communications Manager) and Angus Kirkland (Director General) updated delegates on European Union Funding, EHTV+ and the new Olympic Qualification 2024.

These presentations covered some exciting new initiatives from the EHF, for more information click below:
