EuroHockey Championship II, III to go-ahead – UPDATE

10/06/2021

Following a full review with all the teams and hosts, the EHF has decided that the EuroHockey Championship II and III can go ahead.

Walter Kapounek, vice president of the European Hockey Federation said “We have been in contact with all the teams and hosts and we are satisfied that as the hosts can deliver the strict protocols needed and most teams have confirmed they can travel, these events can go ahead. Of course, this is assuming that travel regulations don’t become more strict over the coming months, but the outlook is becoming more positive in Europe.

Some teams have been clear (see below) that they will not be in a position to travel, so our Men’s Championship IV has to be cancelled. As there is no longer direct promotion/relegation for the EuroHockey Championships, this means that these teams will have the opportunity to enter the qualification process for the 2023 EuroHockey Championships at the qualification events in 2022.”
