The EHF has today announced that, due to the insecure covid situation in Europe and new restrictions impacting a team’s participation, the EuroHockey Indoor Junior Championship II, Women in Sveti Ivan Zelina, Croatia is canceled. The EHF understands and supports the situation and has been working closely with the host, Croatia, in this regard.

It was agreed in advance with the hosts that if the event drops to 3 teams, it would be canceled.

EHF President, Marijke Fleuren said “The EHF would like to thank our hosts, the Croatian Hockey Federation for the enormous efforts to plan for the delivery of this important event. We know that everyone involved will be very disappointed. We look forward to returning to Croatia in the near future.”

Ends/..

Please note:   The next Indoor Junior Championship events will take place in January 2023, with the 2021 hosts (Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and Croatia) getting the first right of refusal to host. The EHF will go out for entries and with more information in due course.  Based on the current number of teams, please note that the usual promotion and relegation will apply from Parades, with 2 teams to be promoted.
