#FridayFocus: EHF Coaches for Europe: Seminar 1
The first seminar of the 2022 EHF Institute Coaches for Europe programme took place last month in Barcelona.
Hosted at Real Club de Polo de Barcelona, the coaches and mentors from throughout Europe were challenged to improve their coaching in this unique international context.
EHF mentors delivered General Topic sessions on areas including Talent Development, Using Technology, and Individual Technical Principles.
The course also had the pleasure of being joined by special guest presenter and local goalkeeping expert Bernar Herrera who gave coaches a masterclass in the fundamentals of goalkeeper coaching.
Coaches were also tasked with delivering their own presentations and on-pitch training sessions, beginning with individual technical skills for year one and defensive principles for the year two coaches.
A further highlight of the week included an all-hands-on-deck friendly tournament that pits the coaches and mentors against one another and even featured some coaches as tournament umpires.
