Like on Thursday, only one match took place on Friday on the fourth day of Men’s EuroHockey Championship IV – tournament. Slovenia and Norway clashed with each other at noon in an extremely even match.

During the first quarter, Slovenia was well on top of their game and the ball stayed in Norway’s end of the pitch slightly more than in Slovenia’s throughout the quarter. The voice in the bell changed quite dramatically during the second quarter.

Early into the second quarter at 18’ minutes Slovenia’s Zrinski Zan and Balaz Alen were given green cards giving Norway the upper hand for a little while. Only a minute later at 19’ minutes Slovenia’s Vegic Luka was given a yellow card. Another yellow card followed at 23’ minutes and Slovenia’s Maucec Franc was sent to the sideline to sit out his 5-minute suspension. Norway’s Singh Abhisekh was also given a green card during the second quarter at 24’ minutes followed by a green card at 29’ minutes to Carcha Arunpreet Singh of the same team. During the second quarter, Norway controlled the game and was awarded quite a few penalty corners. They weren’t, however, able to turn the penalty corners into goals as Slovenia withstood them all. The extremely eventful second quarter ended without goals.

Both teams seemed to calm down during the third quarter and the game remained even throughout the quarter. No goals scored, cards given or penalty corners awarded during the third quarter at all.

The final quarter was again a dramatic one. At 51’ minutes Slovenia took a 1-0 lead when Blaz Legen sunk the ball in Norway’s net. Norway was awarded a penalty corner at 58’ minutes, which Garcha Arunpreet Singh was successful in turning in a goal. With two minutes to go the game was now tied 1-1. Merely 30 second before the final whistle, Norway was awarded another penalty corner. Garcha Arunpreet Singh succeeded again and turned the penalty corner in a goal securing Norway a 2-1 win against Slovenia.
