The second day of the tournament kick-started with an intense match between Slovakia and Malta.

Match 5: Malta v Slovakia (Pool B) 1-3

Both teams seemed equal in their power and technique but Slovakia soon took the lead by scoring the first goal of the match. Slovakia scored another goal shortly after with a short corner, and another later in the game as they demonstrated careful passing and good communication. Two penalties were awarded to Malta but they were unfortunately unable to get passed Slovakia’s goalie. Malta continued to fight for the ball and never lost hope, which proved worth their efforts as they managed to score a goal. The overall result was 3-1 to Slovakia.

Match 6: Croatia v Portugal (Pool B) 5-0 

In the 6th match of the tournament, Portugal and Croatia go head to head in an intense and fast-paced match. The game was quickly dominated by Croatia having scored a goal within the first 3 minutes. The second quarter of the match was seemingly even as no goals were scored until there were three seconds left, allowing them to secure their lead. Nonetheless, Portugal was sill tenacious in their play and never lost sight of their aim, as they continued to fight for the ball but unfortunately were unable to penetrate Croatia’s defence. Many players received cards during this match as tensions were high and players were giving it their all. The match ended with a score of 5 – 0 to Croatia.
