From 20-23rd September we welcomed nearly 30 individuals from across our member national associations as part of the workaround development & education programmes in Europe.

We were delighted to welcome the newly appointed Director of the Hockey Foundation Mike Joyce who discussed the position of the FIH and the Hockey Foundation with their approach to the global development of hockey. We are delighted in this approach and look forward to working with Mike and his colleagues across the FIH and the Foundation.

The Education Committee where lead by their chairpersons in subcommittees of Coaching, Umpiring and Officiating. We were pleased to provide rave reviews of our most successful Breda Education Weekend at the end of August. Which saw over 80 people of courses across these three areas. Push Hockey Club have received a letter of thanks from Executive Board Member Inez Cooper on behalf of the EHF for their support.

Confirmation of coaching seminar locations was made for C4E and TCP and will be announced on Monday 1st October. Whilst updates were provided on a new online assessment process.

Umpiring subgroup confirmed discussed the new UDP group which will be released in October together with mentors. Another success of U4E sees that 30 different National Associations have accessed the programme over 5 years.

Officiating have exciting plans to move their training courses for TO & TDs to live events starting with the indoor season at beginning of the 2019 and are exploring areas to develop the judges for Europe programme on extended dates through the year.

The Development Committee had a packed agenda and explored a range of subjects with healthy discussion and sharing of knowledge across the impact of the Youth Panel which was led by the chair of the Youth Panel Leen Ryx.

Other subject matters discussed included the approach and strategy the EHF can use to look at its values in development across Gender Balance and matters surrounding LGBT.

Updates on future twinning projects between nations and clubs which is supported by the EHF continue to be expanded and further announcements in detail will be made at the turn of the year.

ParaHockey has been a resounding success over Europe this summer and we were joined by our ambassador Helen Richardson-Walsh at the meeting. The annual ParaHockey forum will be held in Brussels in December, date to be confirmed.

The club of the year application process will open for the whole of November criteria will be announced with this alongside the confirmation that winning clubs receive 500 euros worth of equipment.
