Perfect weather, a packed ground and a dramatic game at the end marked day two of the men’s EuroHockey Club Trophy in Vienna with everything still on the line.

Pool B sees the leading trio covered by just one point following WAC’s 1-1 draw with OKS SHVSM Vinnitsa in game four of the day,

Maksim Onofriiuk put the Ukraine’s representative 1-0 up in the 23rd minute and they held that lead until Mathias Podpera converted a penalty corner in the 40th minute to make it 1-1.

It meant a dramatic final quarter in which both sides battled back and forth in search of a winner but neither found one, leaving them level on seven points with WAC holding the edge on goal difference.

Vinnitsa, however, will hope they can overhaul their total as they face bottom ranked HC Bra who have lost both of their games 7-0.

Reigning champions Rotweiss Wettingen got back on track with the seven-goal demolition of the short-handed Bra with six different players scoring, Robin Aebi getting two goals.
Pool A started with a Belarussian-fight between HC Minsk and Stroitel Brest which Minsk won by 4-2.

After four minutes it was 1-1 with Aliaksandr Hancharou seeing his goal quickly canceled out by Ivan Kisliavich. Minsk, though, soon raced into a 4-1 lead with Ivan Liakh and Dmytro Luppa scoring before half-time and Liakh stretched the lead further two minutes into the second half.

Ihar Yahoshchankaus got one back in the 48th minute for what could be an important losing bonus point as they battle on Sunday to try and earn their place in the medal matches.

Scottish side Grange had few problems with KS AZS AWF Poznan after Michael McKenzie opened the scoring after 29 minutes. Goals from Frank Ryan (34.), Callum Milne (50.) and Calum McKenzie (58.) saw the game end 4-0.

Grange are second overnight in the group with lots to play for. A win would see them move ahead of the Belarussian side but they will also need Stroitel Brest not to beat Poznan by too many goals.
