ParaHockey players stepping up on the main pitch of the EuroHockey Championships

For the final day of the EPHC 2019, the final matches of each pool were played at the Belfius EuroHockey Championships venue. After watching Belfius EuroHockey Championships matches and spending time in the venue, players and staff stepped on the main pitch for the final day ceremony at the sound of their national anthem.

Inside the Challenge pool, UK Lions topped their pool after winning over England and Home Nation Belgium 2 finished 3rd after scoring 2 goals against Ireland.

Inside the Trophy pool, the Netherlands finished 1st of their pool after scoring 2 goals over Belgium 1. Spain snatched the victory against France on a tight shoot out session.

Finally, in the Championship pool, Italy reached the highest step of the podium after winning over Portugal, as for the 3rdplace, the Netherlands won over Germany.

Apart from the trophies and medals, it was again about gathering hockey family together and have fun on and off the pitch. Helen Richardson-Walsh surrounded by Paulien van Goethem (Belgium ParaHockey player) and Juan Andres (EHF ParaHockey Ambassador) after taking part together in the starting ball ceremony: “ (About the EPHC2019) absolutely incredible, once again it shows what it’s all about. Smiles on their faces, the enjoyment they’ve all had and an amazing hockey were also been played. That’s just incredible, it goes from strength to strength every single time.”
