Following two closely contested semi-finals, SV Arminen will face Der Club an der Alster in the final tomorrow at 14:30 CET.

Earlier this afternoon saw two Pool C matches, essential for teams hoping to stay in this division.
Match 13: PARTILLE SC 6-9 ROYAL WHITE STAR (Pool C)
The first match of Pool C between holders Partille and White Star was a must-win match for both sides. A few quick passes, combined with a touch of individual skill was enough for Björkman to give Partille the lead, but Simar didn’t wait long to add another goal to his tally and equalise for White Star. Dykmans managed to convert a chance mid-quarter for White Star’s first lead of the match. Partille soon got in the flow of the fast pace with Hellstrand making the scoreboard and Björkman getting his second, but their lead didn’t last for long as Dykmans got his second of the match. Van Bogaert scored for 3:4 and Simar converted another penalty corner. Partille once again decided to take out their goalkeeper and with about 3 minutes left, it seemed like it was over as Dykmans finished off his hattrick and Simar scored two more for a total of four goals. Partille’s final attempt was started with Ströby scoring one and Björkman two more to make the score 6:8, with a minute remaining, but in the end, Dykmans scored again to secure a big win for White Star.
Match 14: DINAMO STROITEL EKATERINBURG 2-3 SPV COMPLUTENSE (Pool C)
Coming into the match, Complutense were in a better position as they had 5 points and Dinamo only had 2, so it was crucial for Dinamo to get something to have any hope to keep their place in this division. With so much on the line, both teams started out carefully with minimal chances being allowed as the first half ended in a 0:0 scoreline. In the third quarter, Complutense finally managed to find a way to break through Dinamo’s defence with goals from Sanz del Campo and Cobos, but the fourth quarter was when Dinamo started to shine as Borisov and Nadyrshin scored each to make it level. With just half a minute left, Cobos proved cool under pressure- securing a huge goal for a big win and with that, safety for the Spanish side.

SF1: SV ARMINEN 3 v 2 HC MINSK
Our first semifinal saw Arminen taking on Minsk. The Belarus side managed to a great start as Korsik scored in the second minute of the match, but both sides were equally matched. Steyrer scored from a penalty corner to equalise for Arminen and the score stayed 1:1 until half-time. Halfway through the third quarter, Kurowski scored for Arminen to take the lead, but just a minute later, Korsik scored a beautiful penalty corner to pull it back. Most of the fourth quarter was scoreless with both teams’ goalkeepers giving a masterclass- Szymczyk (Arminen) and Hordey (Minsk) making one save after another. With four minutes to go Bele finished off a great play to put Arminen in the lead, and despite a Minsk penalty corner with seconds left on the clock Arminen held out and are our first finalists.
SF2: WKS GRUNWALD POZNAN v DER CLUB AN DER ALSTER
Alster got the better start in the second semi-final and survived a brilliant comeback from the home team to claim the second final spot. They put two on the scoreboard in the first quarter, but in the 18th minute Kasprzyk scored to keep Grunwald in it. Unfortunately for the home fans, Grunwald couldn’t turn the tables as Alster scored three goals in the last minute, two coming from Kamlade and one from Schmidt. Grunwald took their goalkeeper out for the third quarter and press worked well. The teams traded scores in the 29th minute- Alster through Alt and Grunwald through Korkosz . At 2-6 going into the final quarter Grunwald gave it their all, and an intense final few minutes saw goals from Kasprzyk, Dutkiewicz and Hutek and a penalty stroke save by Popiołkowski. It wasn’t enough for the Polish side in the end, and Der Club an der Alster are our second finalists.
