Düsseldorfer HC are European Champions!

Following 20 games here in The Hague we have our 2020 Champion as Düsseldorfer HC beat the home side hdm 2-4 in front of a packed stadium!

Final: hdm v Düsseldorfer HC 2-4

A quick goal for the German team started the final in The Hague. hdm showed attitude and strong team plays leading to a PC goal and an action goal; leading to halftime 2-1. The third quarter started strong with and an amazing crowd cheering for the Dutch team. One goal from Düsseldorf at the end of the quarter left everything opened for the last 10 minutes. The last quarter begun with a goal for the German team in a well-executed PC. With only two minutes to finish the game, Düsseldorf scored taking advantage of the lack of goalie in the local team. Two intense last minutes with a stronger defence from the German team. The final score of 2-4 gave the gold medal to Düsseldorf HC

Game 19: Bronze Game: HC Minsk v MSC Sumchanka 5-6

A hard-fought win for Sumchanka in an intense game between the team from Belarus and Ukraine, The second 10 minutes began with a goal for Sumchanka that tied the game. After that, a second one put the Ukrainian team in the lead for the first time in the game. Two more goals for Sumchanka just before halftime made the score 1-4. In the third quarter, Minsk came closer with two action goals just before the end of the 10 minutes. The last quarter in the fight for the bronze medal started with a stroke in favour of the Ukrainian team but a PC for Minsk led to some intense final minutes. Sumchanka scored one more goal due to Minsk opting for the power play (6 players and no keeper). In the last minute, one last goal made the final score 5-6 for Sumchanka.

Earlier today we completed the Pool C Relegation pool.

Match 18: Club de Campo v SV Arminen 4-0

An early goal for the Spanish team in the first minute followed by a second quarter in which Club de Campo pushed forward, with a PC goal and a few more chances. In the third quarter, there were no goals, despite the press from Arminen and the dominance of the game of Club de Campo. The last ten minutes began with some action coming from the Austrian team, however, the Madrid club squashed that with two more goals for a final score of 4-0.

Match 19: Dinamo Elektrostal v East Grinstead 10-3

Dinamo opened the score in the 5th minute with a penalty stroke followed up by a field goal from the English team. Seven more goals for Dinamo and one saved stroke in the second quarter rounded up the first half of the game with a score of 8-1. One more goal for Elektrostal after an action goal from East Grinstead in the third quarter and one amazing solo goal to arrive at the fourth and last quarter. The final score 10-3 after ten minutes of not that much action, with both teams securing their positions.
