The Board of Czech Hockey is happy to announce that Filip Neusser, ex goalkeeper of the national men’s team and current trainer of the national Czech women’s team, will run for the position of President of the Czech Olympic Committee.
Filip has been a member of the Czech Olympic Committee for some years and has expressed his ambition to contribute more to the transformation of sports in the Czech Republic.
The elections will take place next month and the members of the Czech Olympic Committee will cast their votes for Filip or the current president Jiri Kejval.

“The Board of Czech Hockey fully supports Filip in his quest to develop and grow sport and hockey in the Czech Republic. Though his opinions might not be liked by everybody we believe it’s necessary to keep everybody sharp and focused on the important task of developing sport in a constructive and ethical way. I’m happy that Filip took on this challenge and I trust it will bring on the long term only positives when we support people who go after their dreams” commented Gino Schilders, President of the Czech Hockey Federation.

“I realise, that it will not be easy to win these elections, but I feel it’s time to stir up the waters and to constructively improve some of the practices by the Olympic Committee. In the coming weeks I plan to share my plans with the other member federations and the public,” says Filip.

The EHF President, Marijke Fleuren happily supports the campaign of Filip Neusser “Filip is an ambitious guy who, however, he is young, has shown already in different capacities that he is able to move people and to lead them into the right direction. In my role as President, I meet a lot of athletes in Europe, but also worldwide. Filip caught my attention already as a goalkeeper and afterwards in his coaching role. He is a well-respected member of the hockey family. His tenacity, his passion, his sporting knowledge and his willingness to listen to the needs of the athletes make him special and a huge asset to the Czech Olympic movement. We all wish him a lot of success to become the next President of the Czech Olympic Committee.”
