The EHF Institute held the 4th series of online workshops during June ahead of the face-to-face seminars in October and December of 2021.
With 60 coaches and mentors in attendance it produced a vibrant atmosphere across the two programmes, Coaches for Europe (C4E) and Top Coaches Programme (TCP). As EHF Educator Grahame Mansell-Grace commented “It was great to sit with my mentor group and “Talk Hockey” for 3 hours. It’s clear the cohort have good knowledge and was the ideal situation to listen to them share opinions and discuss not only the technical aspects but also where they fit into game play.”
The Coaches 4 Europe (C4E) group split into mentor groups to analyse the IRL v NED women’s game from the EuroHockey Championships which had been played 24hr earlier. The general topics were designed around individual technical skills. The Top Coaches Programme (TCP) group followed an overview on designing and understanding coaching principles before going into mentor groups to analyse the IRL v NED women’s game from the EuroHockey Championships.
Following that, the participants watched along in mentor groups the BEL V ENG men’s game with intent on the main topics covered in both programmes.
The next stage will be individual mentor meetings with each coach on the programme over the summer before Workshop 5 ahead of the seminars later this year.
