Day 2 Round up – EuroHockey Championship Qualifiers

18th August 2022, Brussels, Belgium: Day 2 of the EuroHockey Championship Qualification events continued in Vilnius (w) and Ourense (m), with Dublin (w) getting underway.

EuroHockey Championship Qualifier C 2022 Women, Vilnius, Lithuania, 17 – 20 Aug 2022

Day 2, Vilnius

The second day of EuroHockey Qualifiers brings a second win for the Italian ladies. After the final score of 7:1, the Italian team earned a place in Saturday’s final. Tomorrow the Ukrainian team will fight with the hosts f(Lithuania) for the second spot in the finals.

EuroHockey Championship Qualifier A 2022 Men, Ourense, Spain, 17 – 20 Aug 2022

Day 2, Ourense

A great day of EuroHockey in sunny Ourense. With the Czech team scoring 4 goals in 10 minutes against Portugal and the Polish squad giving resistance to Spain, losing 2 – 0 it promises to be a very exciting final day on Saturday, nothing is decided yet.

EuroHockey Championship Qualifier B 2022 Women, Dublin, Ireland, 18 – 21 Aug 2022

Day 1, Dublin

The Czech Republic and Turkey shared the spoils from the opening fixture at the EuroHockey Championships Qualifier B in Dublin with both sides netting second-half penalty corners. Captain Perihan Küçükkoç broke the deadlock in the 35th minute from a heavily deflected penalty corner but the Czechs got back on terms with five minutes left when Tereza Mejzlikova pounced on a rebound to level the game at 1-1.

Ireland swept to a confident opening win at the Sport Ireland Campus to head the group after day one. Deirdre Duke opened the scoring in the second quarter with a deft touch to Katie Mullan’s cross and Róisín Upton added her 22nd and 23rd international goals to put the result beyond doubt.

Ireland v Poland 3-0 (2-0)
