EuroHockey Club Challenge III Men 2026 (Vilnius, Lithuania) – day 3 round-up
Hosts Sostines Žuvedra and HT85 both topped their respective groups at the men’s EuroHockey Club Challenge III in Vilnius to take the momentum into Sunday’s finals.
There, they will meet FHC Slavia 1921 and HK Lipovci., respectively, with the latter providing some late fireworks to jump up to second in Pool B.
The Slovenes had trailed from the first minute as Elvir Idriz put The Wolves 1-0 up, a lead quickly doubled by Nikolay Georgiev.
But Lipovci fought all the way to the end with Luka Vegič giving them a lifeline with 10 minutes to go and Luka Tinev equalised in the second last minute for a 2-2 outcome.
It saw the two sides swap places in the final reckoning with Lipovci taking the all important second spot and a chance at promotion.
The result assured Žuvedra of top spot in the group and they duly confirmed their third successive win in style with a 7-1 win over Warriors from Finland with Edvin Stankevic scoring a hat trick.
In Pool A, HT85 were 6-0 winners over MASK in which David Arenas scored three times and Santeri Määtänen got a double.
Sunday’s schedule begins with MASK playing Warriors in the battle for fifth place. The first of the two promotion finals sees Sostines Žuvedra playing Slavia 1921 at 11.15 CET and HT85 play Lipovci at 1.30pm (CET).
