Having completed 3 of our EuroHockey club events last weekend, it was fantastic to get the EuroHockey Club Trophy women underway yesterday in Lille! We will have 40 club games this weekend – a huge thanks to all who have made this possible!
EuroHockey Club Trophy 2021 Women (results and rankings)
With two days underway, it is the Belgian teams that are topping this one pool event. As they face each other tomorrow, this will give a good indication of which might ultimately win the EuroHockey Trophy this year!
GANTOISE HC (BEL) 8 -1 EAST GRINSTEAD HC (ENG)
Against all expectations, the GANTOISE HC, the favorite team of the competition, entered a disputed match against EAST GRINSTEAD HC. The GANTOISE HC opens the scoring on field goal in the 5th by Emilie Sinia. EAST GRINSTEAD HC in the 7th minute responds on field goal thanks to Sophie Bray. After an update in the locker room the GANTOISE HC unfolds its game, in the 31st minute by Lara Oviedo on field goal, 33rd minute by Stephanie Vanden Borre on Penalty Corner, 40th and 43rd minute Ambre Ballenghien field goal, 52nd Alix Gerniers on field goal, 52nd minute Barbara Nelen on field goal and 60th minute Ambre Ballenghien on field goal. Final score 8 – 1 for the Ghent HC vs EAST GRINSTEAD HC
SANSE COMPLUTENSE HC (ESP) 2 – 1 BRAXGATA HC (BEL)
In a live match, the SANSE COMPLUTENSE HC opened the scoring in the 14th minute on field action by Patricia Alvarez. In the 55th minute the BRAXGATA HC equalized on field action by Julia Pons.
Then in the 55th minute SANSE COMPLUTENSE HC finds a Stroke, Lola Riera Zuzuarregui takes the BRAXGATA HC goalkeeper Elena Sotgiu against the feet. BRAXGATA HC put the pressure on and try to get the score on pc but the defense of SANSE COMPLUTENSE HC is in place, end of the match 2 – 1 for SANSE COMPLUTENSE HC

EuroHockey Club Challenge I 2021 Women (results and rankings)

Since both pools consist only of three teams, we had just two matches today and will have the same during each of the upcoming days. The first ones to show off their skills were teams MSC Sumchanka and SG Amsicora ASD, where it might have looked like an equal match, however, the team from Ukraine started dominating from the start of the second half and scoring in total 6 goals whereas their opponent just one in the end. The second match was decided during the first half when Garraffo Maria and De Biase Pilar from HC Argentia scored two goals. But that did not stop the team from Switzerland from coming back to the second half with heads up and resolve to yet change the outcome of the match. The effort brought them a goal, however just one. HC Argentia 2:1 HC Rotweiss Wettingen.
