10th March 2022: The first in-person partner meeting of 2022 was held in Paris this past week.
The EHF Institute’s mission is to deliver world-class education to support national growth. Co-Funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union through a grant of 397k Euros.
The project will build on and enhance good practice structures by developing the EHF Institute with four strategic pillars to facilitate sustainable, high-quality national growth across member federations in Europe. EHF Institute Strategic Pillars:
- Governance
- Coaching
- Officiating
- Athletes
A range of sessions across two days allowed including planning for coaching pathway pilots in Slovenia, Germany, France, and Switzerland. Additionally, the EHF has signed with partners to progress Athlete Dual Academic programmes which are being trialed by athletes throughout this year. Adam Evans Associate Professor of Sociology also submitted two papers that provide academic backing for the EHF Institute structure as it continues to be built.
The meeting also allowed the opportunity to expand networks with an invitation from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in France. The ambassador Pieter de Gooijer and the economic department of the embassy with Michael Pistecky were pleased to welcome various national hockey federations as part of the development of the European Hockey Federation.

The EHF Institute will be formally launched at the EuroHockey Championship, August 2023, in Germany.
