AHC hit full form to set up final Challenge II date with Cardiff & Met

Women’s EuroHockey Indoor Club Challenge II (Vantaa, Finland)

AHC produced two super results on Saturday to join Cardiff & Met in the women’s EuroHockey Indoor Club Challenge II final tomorrow in Vantaa.

Earlier in the day, Two goals each from Millie Barnes and Megan Watts saw Cardiff & Met win 4-0 over Vantaa and assure them a place in Sunday’s final with one group game still to play.

Both scored one in Q2 and Q3 for a neatly symmetrical scoreline, their third successive victory.

The Welsh side did, however, drop their first points of the competition in the following game with the last play of the game against AHC, drawing 3-3.

An early flurry of goals saw two from Sára Józan put the Hungarians 2-1 up after five minutes before Cardiff turned things around with Harriet Barker netting twice.

And 3-2 was how it stayed until the very last play when Dóra Barki scored, giving her side a chance at reaching the final if they could get a win over Vantaa.

AHC then rose off the bottom of the group with an impressive 5-1 win over Vantaa in the final group game to take their place in the final.

Once more, Józan was the star as she added four more goals to her tournament total, bringing It to nine.

She opened the scoring only for Marta Bolotova to level in the seventh minute but the game was decided in the third quarter when Józan scored three more and Dóra Barki added one more for extra insurance in the final quarter.
