Present or past activities in sport at national level (NA/NOC): As Director General of the VHL, Christoph is involved in the high performance discussions with our stakeholders.

Submitted reasons why the candidate is considered suitable for the position: With over two decades of leadership experience across the corporate and nonprofit sectors, Christoph brings a strong combination of strategic vision, operational expertise, and deep passion for hockey. For the past 11 years, he has served as CEO of the Flemish Hockey Liga in Belgium, where he led the organization through a phase of significant growth, enhanced professionalism, strengthened quality standards — including the development of support programs for coaches, umpires, and club managers — and digital transformation.
His leadership is values-driven, rooted in integrity, collaboration, and inclusion. He has overseen the development of youth programs, strengthened club support systems, and worked to ensure a safe, accessible, and vibrant hockey environment for all participants.
He is committed to good governance and financial transparency, and he actively foster partnerships at local, national, and international levels. We are convinced that his ability to bridge grassroots experience with strategic policy thinking makes him a strong candidate to contribute to the continued evolution of the Eurohockey. We know that he is eager to bring his skills and energy to the European level and help shape a sustainable, inclusive future for hockey across the continent.

Professional or other qualifications: • Master’s degree in Economic Sciences (University of Antwerp).
• 11 years of experience as CEO of the Flemish Hockey Liga, leading strategic planning, governance, financial management, and organizational development.
• 11 years prior experience as co-founder and managing partner of a private company, with hands-on expertise in entrepreneurship, innovation, and stakeholder engagement.
• 9 years of earlier professional experience in multinational corporate environments, developing business, communication, and leadership skills in complex settings.
• Proven track record in managing public funding, sponsorships, and financial oversight in both private and nonprofit contexts.
• Extensive involvement in club support programs, youth development, volunteer coordination, and promotion of safe and ethical sport environments.
• Fluent in Dutch, English, and French; experienced in working across cultures and collaborating with European and international (sport) partners.
• Completed various professional training programs in leadership and nonprofit management.
• Recognized for promoting integrity, inclusion, and strategic innovation in sport, both on and off the field.
