In the final of the EuroHockey Indoor Club Cup, Düsseldorfer put on a show in the first half of the game, going ahead seven without reply against the hosts Gaziantep, with Brands adding a hattrick to her tally of goals. Gaziantep did claw one back at the start of the second half but was outclassed 11-3.
In the bronze medal game, Sumchanka had the better of the first half going ahead via, a much depleted (injuries) Royal Racing was under siege for a good portion of the half, but managed to contain the attack and hold Sumchanka to that one-goal lead. Racing Club equalised. Sumchanka moved up a gear in the second half as they scored two more goals and Racing was under attack for most of the 4th quarter. Sumchanka ended up the victor 4-1.
Earlier today the playoff games took place.
First up, already relegated RotWeiss Wettingen and Buckingham played out the 7th/8th playoff. A closely matched game as they exchanged two goals apiece. A dramatic end as Wettingen grabbed the win with 4 seconds on the clock, avoiding a shoot-out (3-2)
The 5th/6th ranking game was a tight affair between Complutense SK Slavia Praha. With both teams safe in the division for 2025, a tough game for both teams who gave spent all their energy in staying in the division yesterday. The game ended in favour of Complutense 3-5
