EuroHockey announces selections for 2026 U4N and U4E programmes

The EuroHockey Institute has confirmed the umpires selected for the 2026 editions of the Umpires for Nations (U4N) and Umpires for Europe (U4E) programmes.

It follows a comprehensive selection process conducted by the EuroHockey Officials Committee.

The new group of promising officials from across Europe will take part in a year-long development journey designed to enhance their technical knowledge, match management, and personal growth.

“It is very encouraging for the EuroHockey Institute to see that there are so many brilliant umpires in Europe who are looking to learn and improve,” said Magda Nazaret, Chair of the EuroHockey Officials Committee. “We wish all those selected good luck and a lot of fun with their umpiring.”

The U4N and U4E programmes form part of the EuroHockey Institute’s mission to nurture the next generation of international officials, offering a mix of online learning, mentoring, and hands-on experience at tournaments across the continent.

📅 Key Dates for 2026

Throughout the year, participants will engage in a series of online webinars, mentoring sessions, and interactive workshops, supported by the EuroHockey Institute’s experienced umpire mentors.

Two in-person seminars will provide crucial learning and networking opportunities:
Seminar 1: 16–18 January 2026, Prague (Czechia): A joint theoretical seminar held alongside the Women’s EuroHockey Indoor Championship.

Seminar 2: 3–5 April 2026, multiple European locations: Umpires will join various tournaments during the Easter weekend to gain practical experience.

“The U4N and U4E pathways are a vital part of our commitment to supporting officials at every level of the game,” said Cameron Findler, EuroHockey Institute Manager. “We’re excited to see this next group of umpires take the next step in their journey.”
