Two first half penalty strokes from Frédérique Matla saw the Netherlands confirm their place at the top of women’s Pool A and a semi-final date with Spain.
They were 4-0 up at half-time following a dominant first half. Marijn Veen put them in front in the tenth minute when Yibbi Jansen picked off a loose ball out of defence and returned it with interest to Fay van der Elst who made a quick interchange with Veen to slot home.
Yibbi Jansen scored the first of her goals on the day with a low drag-flick before Matla added her two strokes, both for heavy fouls on Joosje Burg.
It was five in the second half when Jansen doubled up and Luna Fokke made it 6-0 from another penalty corner.
