Late winners and big scores on thrilling Day 2 in Siauliai

The goals continued to flow on Day 2 of the EuroHockey Club Challenge II Men in Siauliai, Lithuania. Roslagens IF and HC Luxembourg served up a pair of dramatic Pool B encounters, while hosts Šiauliai Ginstrektė-Akademija produced a stunning 12-goal display in front of their home fans.

Game 5: Roslagens IF 4–3 Furuset Landhockeyklubb

Sweden’s Roslagens IF edged a thrilling 4–3 win over Norway’s Furuset in the opening game of the day.
Ruben Björn gave Roslagens the lead (16’) before Furuset responded through Aaron Fulton-Brown (19’) and Nicolai Leege (22’, PC).
Lucas Saverstam levelled from the penalty spot (40’), and Björn struck again with a penalty corner goal on the stroke of three-quarter time (45’+). Julius Jagdt equalised for Furuset (48’), but Lucas Saverstam was again decisive, converting a penalty corner (52’) to seal the points for Roslagens.

Game 6: HC Luxembourg 1–1 Floriana Young Stars HC

HC Luxembourg and Malta’s Floriana Young Stars shared the spoils in a tense 1–1 draw.
Jonathan Werner opened the scoring for Luxembourg with a 22nd-minute field goal. Floriana responded in the third quarter, with captain Karl Chircop converting a penalty corner (36’) to earn a hard-fought point for the Young Stars.

Game 7: KS Pomorzanin Torun 3–1 HK Triglav Predanovci

Polish leaders KS Pomorzanin Torun made it two wins from two with a composed 3–2 victory over Slovenia’s HK Triglav Predanovci.
Mateusz Zieliński opened the scoring for Pomorzanin (25’, FG). Captain Wojciech Rutkowski added two penalty corner goals in quick succession (48’, 51’).
Triglav fought back with field goals from Uroš Balažic (49’) and Nejc Potokar (50’) to make it a tense finish, but Pomorzanin held on for another key win.

Game 8: Šiauliai Ginstrektė-Akademija 12–0 FHC Akademik Plus Sofia

Šiauliai Ginstrektė-Akademija delighted the home crowd with a dazzling 12–0 victory over FHC Akademik Plus Sofia.
Arnas Ridlauskas opened the scoring (15’), with Povilas Sinkevičius delivering an outstanding five-goal performance — four field goals (16’, 18’, 29’, 60’) and one penalty corner (47’).
Dominykas Vaikėnas netted twice (19’, 29’, the second from a penalty stroke), with Džiugas Dikšas (31’), Irmantas Skinderskis (32’), Mantvydas Pocevičius (38’), and Mindaugas Spalgenas (58’, PC) adding to the tally.
It was an emphatic win for the Lithuanians, keeping them firmly in the hunt for a place in the final.
