The EuroHockey Foundation is the charitable leg of the European Hockey Federation (EuroHockey), a non-profit organisation aimed at changing lives through safe spaces to play for vulnerable youngsters, adults and the intellectual disabled.
Background
- Children, and vulnerable adults particularly those in disadvantaged and minority communities, lack access to safe and stimulating play spaces. This can negatively impact their physical and mental well-being, social development, and educational opportunities.
- The European Union’s White Paper on Sport acknowledges the importance of providing access to sport for all, particularly to children and those from disadvantaged communities. It highlights the role of sport in promoting social inclusion, personal development, and active citizenship. To address inequalities in access to sport and to create opportunities for everyone to participate, regardless of their background or abilities.
- Collaboration between various stakeholders, including public authorities, sports organisations, and civil society, to ensure that everyone has the opportunity, to benefit from participating in sport.
