SLF Mesaicos (SWE)

Representing Sweden at the Women’s EuroHockey Club Challenge II 2025 is a proud milestone for SLF Mesaicos. As a growing presence in European hockey, they have made steady progress in recent years and are committed to advancing the women’s game at all levels across Sweden.

This will be their third appearance in a EuroHockey club event and approach the tournament with a well-prepared and united squad. In total, 12 of their panel have played in European competitions in recent years with Johanna Bruining, Elijn Kroese, Charlotte Zwart, Carmen Chan, Aimee Mackenzie and Hannah Deprez playing in the last two seasons.

In the lead-up to the event, the team has undergone extensive training and played a series of competitive matches to sharpen our performance.

They are fortunate to have the support of a professional group of staff from our men’s team, whose expertise has played a key role in our tactical and physical preparations. Their guidance, combined with the team’s commitment and hard work, has ensured we arrive ready to compete at a high level.

Now in his second year with the team, coach Siya shares: “This tournament is a fantastic opportunity for us to challenge ourselves, grow as a unit, and showcase Swedish hockey on a European stage. We’re excited to see how far we’ve come.

They are currently in the top two of the Swedish championship which is still ongoing.

Seinäjoki United (FIN)

With the claim of Europe’s northernmost club, the Finnish side is making their debut in European women’s competition. It comes a decade after the female side of the club was introduced and a year on from their 2024 silver medal in the Finnish championship.

Thus far, they have picked up seven points out of nine after three games in this year’s competition with Lilian Kigen, Estonian Ariko Kristel and German Viktoria Windpassinger among the goals.

Just one player has prior experience on this kind of stage outdoors with Thelma-Julia Lill-Smeds playing four games for Porvoo last year in Poland.

Orient Lyngby (DEN)

Orient Lyngby are looking forward to their women’s first appearance on the outdoor European circuit and this will be a new experience for their multi-cultural squad.

Indeed, they have players hailing from Argentina, Chile, India, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, England and Germany in their wider panel.

They began their outdoor season in style with a 7-1 win over Gentofte but did suffere a setback against this week’s hosts, HC Copenhagen, in the Danish Cup final with a 4-1 defeat. Key to their chances will be the performances of Sol Garcia Vidal and Alejandra Alvarez.

HC Copenhagen (DEN)

Hosts Copenhagen come into the competition on a high after their Danish Cup final 4-1 success against Orient Lyngby.

It will be their first appearance on the European outdoor stage since 2018 but they do have links to that vintage with Katja Christensen, Caroline Mourier and Antje Hofmann all playing back then in Challenge III in Vienna. Christensen continues to be a key figure for the side with a recent hat trick in league action.

Their panel is another one with healthy interests from around the globe with a smattering of German, Netherlands, Argentina, Spain, Belgian and Chilean players in the mix.
