Trophy action in Alanya and Rome for the women and men’s Trophy II events

Women’s Trophy II, Alanya: Clydesdale Western set the early benchmark at the EuroHockey Club Trophy II Women 2026 in Alanya with an emphatic 6–1 victory over Gaziantep Polisgücü, delivering one of the standout performances of the opening day. Lunjika Nyirenda led the charge with a clinical hat-trick, supported by a well-rounded attacking display that immediately placed the Scottish side in control of Pool B. In the same group, Cardiff & Met edged a tight contest against HC Olten, securing a narrow 1–0 win to keep pace at the top of the standings.

Pool A also produced two competitive encounters as HC Rotweiss Wettingen and WAC both opened with victories to take early control. Wettingen were composed and efficient in a 3–0 success against Šiauliai Ginstrektė-Akademija, while WAC were pushed all the way by Alanya Stars before sealing a 3–2 win in a lively and closely contested match. The results leave both sides level on points, with goal difference separating them at the summit after the first round of fixtures.

Meanwhile at the Men’s Trophy II, Rome: The EuroHockey Club Trophy II Men 2026 began with an eventful opening set of fixtures, providing early indicators in both pools as teams looked to establish momentum. In Pool B, Slagelse HC made a strong start with a convincing 4–1 win over Selçuklu Belediye SK, combining attacking efficiency with disciplined defensive play to take an early lead in the standings.
The second Pool B fixture was much tighter, with Grasshopper Club Zürich edging HC Bra 1–0 in a close contest. A single goal proved decisive in a match defined by defensive organisation, leaving Grasshopper level on points with Slagelse at the top of the pool after the opening round.

As a result, Pool B sees Slagelse and Grasshopper set the early pace on three points, while Selçuklu and Bra will look to respond quickly in their remaining matches to stay in contention. With a full round‑robin format, consistency will be key, particularly as goal difference could prove decisive in separating teams with similar records.

In Pool A, attention turned to ASD Tevere EUR Hockey against Casa Pia Atlético Clube, with that fixture marking the opening clash in the group, while HK Zelina prepares to enter the competition in subsequent matches. With just three teams competing, the smaller pool structure adds extra pressure, as each result carries significant weight in the race for a place in the final. Tereve took the spoils 4-1.
