Women’s EuroHockey Championship III (Alanya, Türkiye) – day three round-up
Ukraine had few issues in advancing to the women’s EuroHockey Championship III final as they defeated Luxembourg 17-0, setting up a rematch with Türkiye.
Luxembourg were able to keep it reasonably tight for the first quarter with only an Anastasiia Voievoda goal separating the teams.
But Ukraine were rampant after that with Karyna Leonova adding another four goals to her tournament total while six other players got two goals.
Hosts Türkiye confirmed they topped the group stage with a 7-0 win over Hungary built around three goals in the first quarter.
Fatma Songül Gültekin got the first two before Ceyda Korkmaz, Nur Baran, Zeliha Kendir, Fatma Demir and Kübra Güzelal stretched out the advantage.
It means Luxembourg will face Hungary on Saturday morning in the third place playoff (9.00 local time) and Ukraine meet the Turks at 11.15 local time for gold.
