EuroHockey is the governing body for hockey in Europe. Our mission is to promote, develop, and manage hockey across our member nations at all levels. We organise a wide range of events, including the EuroHockey Championships, Club competitions, EHL, Indoor Championships, Hockey5s, Youth tournaments like the EHL U14, and inclusive events such as the EuroHockey Intellectual Disability Championships.

The Opportunity:

EuroHockey is seeking a proactive and highly organised Competitions & Officials Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual passionate about hockey & sports administration to play a key role in the successful delivery of EuroHockey competitions. You will be central to the planning, administration, and operational support of our diverse tournament portfolio, ensuring smooth execution and adherence to best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the competitions department in the planning and delivery of various EuroHockey competitions, including specific responsibility for the Euro Hockey League U14 
  • Responsible, with the Development Department, for the EHL HockeyID and EuroHockey Intellectual Disability Championships.
  • Manage competition entries, scheduling, and results processes.
  • Coordinate data entry for teams and nations into the match management systems and EuroHockey Portal.
  • Act as a point of contact for National Associations, clubs, officials, and host organisers regarding competition logistics.
  • Maintain and keep updated all Competitions and Officials Portal resources documentation.
  • Support the preparation of documents for technical officials and umpires.
  • Provide administrative support to relevant EuroHockey committees.
  • Responsible for the administration & sanctioning of events.

Officials Support: 

  • Support the administration process related to the appointments and education of technical officials and umpires.
  • Support the logistics of the clothing for officials.

Financial Management: 

  • Apply sound financial practices in all competition-related tasks, ensuring activities remain within budget.

Event & Departmental Support: 

  • Where required, provide on-site administrative and operational support during EuroHockey competitions.
  • Help monitor compliance with FIH regulations (International Hockey Federation).
  • Provide general administrative support to the Competitions Manager and department, contributing to the overall body of work around competitions.

Key Relationships:

  • Internal: Operations Manager, Competitions Manager, other EuroHockey Staff, Finance Department, EuroHockey Committees.
  • External: National Associations, Participating Clubs, Technical Delegates, Local Organising Committees, Technical Officials, UMs, Umpires, System/Portal Providers, Suppliers & the FIH (where relevant).

Who We’re Looking For:

  • A genuine interest in sport; knowledge of hockey is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability & desire to travel internationally and work flexible hours. 
  • Proven experience in sports administration or event coordination.  
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with data entry and management systems (experience with match Management Systems is a plus).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to work with AI tools and ZOHO a benefit.
  • Awareness of budget management principles.
  • A proactive, problem-solving attitude and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken). Proficiency in other European languages is a benefit.
