Hosts Start Brzeziny and Metpack Alanya Stars took the laurels from their respective finals at the women’s EuroHockey Club Challenge II in Poland.
They both ran up big scorelines against Europa and HC Luxembourg to take the gold medals on offer while there were also wins for GD Viso and HK Zrinjevac on the final day of the competition.

Final: KS Hokej Start Brzeziny
v Europa FC Hockey Club 5-0
Hosts KS Hokej Start Brzeziny showcased their abilities with a 5-0 victory over Europa FC Hockey Club to win gold in Poland. Brzeziny opened the scoring in the 5th minute with a field goal by Zuzanna Rubacha and were further ahead in the 26th minute with another field goal from Paula Sławińska.
Brzeziny continued their strong performance into the second half. Dziyana Varanovich added the third in the 42nd minute, followed by Natalia Kucharska’s goal in the 48th minute. Rubacha sealed the win with a penalty corner goal in the 50th minute.
With this comprehensive victory, KS Hokej Start Brzeziny secures joint 1st place in the tournament, while Europa FC Hockey Club finishes joint 3rd.

Final: Metpack Alanya Stars Hokey SK
v HC Luxembourg 7-0
Metpack Alanya Stars Hokey SK (pictured above) concluded their outstanding week as they triumphed over HC Luxembourg with a dominant 7-0 victory. Alanya started strong with a field goal from Ayla Esen in the 7th minute. They continued their offensive in the second quarter with a penalty corner goal by Ventsislava Bosolova in the 26th minute, followed by a field goal from Fatma Nişancı in the 29th minute for an imposing 3-0 half-time lead.
Alanya maintained their momentum in the second half, scoring three more goals in quick succession: a field goal by Kübra Güzelal in the 39th minute and two penalty corner goals by Emine Bahçivan in the 41st and 42nd minutes. They sealed their victory with a final field goal by Güzelal in the 59th minute.
With this comprehensive victory, Metpack Alanya Stars Hokey SK secured a joint top finish and Luxembourg secured a share of third place, a fine outing as they won their first ever games in Euro club competition.
5th/7th playoff: Grupo Desportivo do Viso
v SLF Mesaicos 1-1 (Viso win shoot-out 3-1)
In a close playoff for 5th/7th place, Grupo Desportivo do Viso clinched a 3-1 shootout victory over SLF Mesaicos after a 1-1 draw.
Mesaicos struck first with a penalty corner goal from Elijn Kroese in the 15th minute before Viso equalised in the second quarter with a field goal by Martina Jerez in the 27th minute.
Despite several attempts from both teams, neither could break the deadlock in the second half, leading to a shootout. Viso’s Mariana Teixeira, Joana Santos, and Ana Nogueira successfully converted their shootout attempts, while Mesaicos struggled, with only Kroese finding the net.
With this victory, Grupo Desportivo do Viso secures 5th place in the tournament, while SLF Mesaicos finishes in 7th place.
5th/7th playoff: HK Zrinjevac
v Porvoo HC 7-0
In the second 5th/7th playoff game, HK Zrinjevac delivered a dominant performance, defeating Porvoo HC 7-0. The Croatian team opened the scoring in the 9th minute with a field goal from Iskra Bedenko and she doubled the score in the second quarter.
Zrinjevac continued their striking ability in the third quarter, with Dolores Koščak scoring from a penalty corner in the 30th minute and Bedenko completing her hat-trick with a field goal two minutes later. The fourth quarter saw two more goals from Zrinjevac, with a penalty corner from Chiara Peranić and a field goal from Jasna Bužančić in the 59th minute.
