Having bagged the women’s gold earlier in the day, the men’s team held their nerve with a full schedule of games v Poland and then Sweden in their final game.

A hard fought win for Ukraine v Poland early in the day 3-5 in favour of the Ukrainians. Their final game v Sweden saw them win15-3 as the Swedes just ran out of energy in their 8th game in Walcz. Kaplinsky bagged 9 of the goals and went on, unsurprisingly to win the top scorer award!

Poland took the silver medal with a total of 6 wins and Sweden took bronze, finishing just ahead of Slovakia in goal difference.

It was a landmark day for hockey in Bulgaria, as just like their women earlier in the week, the men’s team won its first international Hockey5s game with a 4-3 win over Sweden.
