Last weekend, the EuroHockey Competitions Committee Outdoor met in the EuroHockey Office in Brussels, Belgium, for their first meeting of the year.
This was the 1st meeting of the new two-year cycle and the committee consists of a mixture of some established and a few new members. See the full list of members here.
The Committee received updates on the Euro Hockey League, EuroHockey club events 2024, EuroHockey 5s U16 Championships 2024, EuroHockey 5s Championships 2024, EuroHockey U21 Championships 2024 and EuroHockey Qualifiers 2024.
The Committee considered the entries and applications to host the 2025 EuroHockey U18 Championships. Recommendations for the awarding of these U18 Championships were made to the EuroHockey executive board. These will be announced in due course as soon as the EuroHockey executive board has approved them.
They received updates on FIH events and discussed some (regulations) questions. Any changes will be published in due course (if needed) in the various sets of Regulations and Event Manuals.
The Committee also received updates and various procedures within EuroHockey and its events. Moreover, they looked at the structure and format of the current EuroHockey Championships and its Qualifiers (EHCQ) and discussed potential changes and solutions. Any outcomes and decisions will be published (if needed) on the EuroHockey website.
The next committee meeting will be in September 2024.
