Identification​

• Segregated sport can reinforce stereotypes and limit opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities. EuroHockey identified Mixed Ability Hockey as a way to promote true inclusion. ​

Activation​

• Showcased at the EuroHockey ID Forum, Mixed Ability Hockey programmes bring players with and without intellectual disabilities together in shared teams, supported by education, toolkits, and partnerships with Special Olympics.  ​

Impact​

• Reduced stigma and increased social inclusion​
• Shared participation breaking down perceived barriers​
• Clear pathways into competitions and leadership roles​
• Model for inclusive sport beyond hockey​
