The EuroHockey Competitions Manager visited Bulgaria last week to conduct site visits and meet with Bulgarian hockey representatives.

The indoor venue for the EuroHockey Indoor Club Challenge I 2026 (Men) in Sofia was visited, and the delivery of the event was discussed.

Potential new outdoor locations in the northern part and the south-east part of the country were visited.

In the Rhodope Mountains, in the village of Davidkovo a brand-new hockey 5s pitch was opened. Davidkovo is part of the municipality of Banite. In Banite also the local hockey club was visited, where a training session of the local youth was held.

EuroHockey wishes to congratulate the Bulgarian Hockey Federation and the Banite municipality on securing a new hockey 5s pitch, which will help to grow hockey in this mountain region. We also hope the venues for the new 11s pitches will be ready soon.
