The HockeyMagic Caravan summer tour embraced the Czech Republic with the support of a EuroHockey Solidarity Grant.
Tomislav Jamicic and Dick Besters took their annual trip to a “new frontier” in their bid to educate, inspire and enthuse young athletes and coaches.
“Our week long mission: to explore new hockey worlds in Rakovnik, Pilsner, Hradec Králové and Prague,” they said of the caravan’s journey this summer.
“To meet new people and make new connections; to spread hockey fun and enthusiasm; to leave some hockey magic behind so they can also boldly go where no one has gone before!
“Crazy sticks, magic balls, latin dribble, lifts, bridges, kangaroo game, grip chop, rolled up sleeves and of course the famous Magic Circle tricks.
“When we connect this with fun, enthusiasm, curiosity and creativity of coaches and players we get ingredients for an unforgettable caravan week in Czech Republic.
“Players and coaches from different clubs joined us at each venue, in the true spirit of HockeyMagic. Those amazed looks in the eyes of young players, focus during the sessions and smiles on their faces when they waved goodbye were the best reward we could get.
“We would like to thank Czech Hockey Federation for a great organisation, local coaches for their support, and all hosts for their hospitality. With special thanks to Karolina Paterson.”
