Men’s EuroHockey Club Trophy I – Lisburn

Lisnagarvey confirmed their place in the final of the competition with a comfortable 5-0 win over ASD Tevere EUR to top Pool A, setting up a title decider with CAM 92.

The damage was done in the second quarter when Matthew Aughey, Mark McNellis and Daniel Nelson all scored for a 3-0 advantage. They added two more in the second first few minutes of the second half via Tom Archbold and McNellis to close out the result.

Earlier, Cardiff had confirmed a top two spot in the group when they defeated Slavia Prague 7-2, recovering from an early concession to build a 3-1 lead before a late flurry of four goals in the last 10 minutes saw them pull away.

Cardiff will play Scotland’s Grange next for the bronze medal after the latter defeated OKS SHVSM Vinnitsa 1-0 with Jamie Green getting the only goal in the 34th minute.

Monday starts with the Ukrainian side playing Slavia for fifth and sixth before the medal matches take place. ASD Tevere EUR are confirmed in seventh place.

Men’s EuroHockey Club Challenge I – Konya

Home club Nevşehir Belediyesi won their battle with Denmark’s Orient Lyngby in Konya to give them the psychological advantage ahead of a final showdown with HC Vinnitsa 1981 on Monday.

In Sunday’s last group match, first half goals from Celal Aydin, Furkan Ataş and Cihan Korkmaz set them up for a 3-0 win. Monday’s second leg is far more important though as the same teams meet in the final for the gold medals.

HC Vinnitsa 1981, meanwhile, won 7-1 over Építök with six different players on the score sheet.
