Belgium’s Shane McLeod has become the first coach to name his panel for the upcoming men’s EuroHockey Championships in Mönchengladbach from August 8 to 17, bringing together a much-changed line-up to the competition.
In total, there will be nine changes from the 2023 edition, players who accounted for a total of 2,675 caps from that vintage not involved this time.

The likes of John-John Dohmen, Florent Van Aubel, Cédric Charlier, Gauthier Boccard, Manu Stockbroekx, Felix Denayer, Loick Luypaert and Vincent Vanasch make up that number, showing the nature of change in the side.
It means there will be senior tournament debuts for the likes of Tommy Willems, Roman Duvekot and Guillaume Hellin while Thomas Crols and Lucas Balthazar move up from last summer’s Under-21 side.
In goals, Simon Vandenbroucke is the newcomer, joining Loic Van Doren with Vanasch not included this time around.
Tom Boon did not play in the 2023 Euros but he is back along with Thibeau Stockbroekx and Max Van Oost, all three of whom played some part in the Olympic Games last summer.
Otherwise, the consistency comes in the form of Arthur Van Doren, Nico De Kerpel, Alexander Hendrickx, William Ghislan, Arthur de Sloover, Antoine Kina, Victor Wegnez, Nelson Onana and Arno Van Dessel who all won bronze in 2023.
