The first-ever EuroHockey Club Challenge III Men in Oslo began in style, with plenty of goals, drama, and a landmark result for hosts Mortensrud-Aker SK. Clubs across Europe brought fast-paced hockey to Norway on Day 1, delighting local fans at Mortensrud Kunstgress.
Game 1: Qormi Daikin HC 3–0 Hockey Team 85
Maltese side Qormi Daikin HC opened their campaign with a clinical 3–0 win over Finland’s Hockey Team 85.
Juan Sarcia converted a 6th-minute penalty stroke to put Qormi ahead early. Shawn Dimech doubled the lead with a field goal (40’), and Sarcia struck again from a penalty corner (51’) to seal the result.
Game 2: Valhalla LHC 2–5 HK Lipovci
Slovenia’s HK Lipovci came out on top in a goal-filled clash against Sweden’s Valhalla Landhockey Club.
Blaz Berden opened the scoring (15’) before a thrilling second quarter saw both sides exchange goals. Lipovci led 3–2 at half-time and extended the advantage with second-half strikes from Marcel Stanko (36’) and Žiga Štiblar (42’) to claim a 5–2 victory.
Game 3: Warriors HC 0–1 Mortensrud-Aker SK
Hosts Mortensrud-Aker SK delighted the local crowd with a narrow but deserved 1–0 win over Finland’s Warriors HC.
Saim Emer Rathore scored the decisive goal in the 23rd minute with a well-taken field effort. The Norwegian side defended solidly to protect their lead and secure a memorable first European club win on home turf.
