Coaches for Europe (C4E)
Programme Overview
The C4E programme is aimed at coaches with the potential to become a high performance coach, either with top club teams or national teams. It focuses on developing a philosophy of coaching incorporating individual technical and tactical skills as well as developing a wide knowledge and understanding of team tactics.

How To Get On
Application
- Nominations can be made by both EuroHockey member national associations and individual coaches
- The nominations close in September of each year
- Selection is made by the EuroHockey coaching committee in October
Criteria & Level
- The programme has been matched agains the European Qualification Framework and is certified at Level 3 by EuroHockey and FIH. Therefore participants must prove they hold certification or relevant experience at European Qualification Framework Level 2.

– The art of communication; watch, listen, ask, explore
– Individual tactical coaching offensive principles with defensive analysis
– Individual tactical coaching defensive principles with offensive analysis

Modules:
– Differences in individual tactical analysis princples
– Applying different models for team tactics
– Importance of individual skills in team tactics

Three at-home portfolio tasks set by mentors throughout the year, designed for coaches to demonstrate application of newly-developed knowledge in their local context
FIH Academy Workshops
9 hours
Requirement to complete three FIH Academy online workshops throughout the year. Coaches to work with mentors to select workshops which cover gaps in individual knowledge.
