Scoring Goals Grant

Overview

The Scoring Goals Grant is an annual small‑grant programme designed to co‑fund community‑based hockey projects that actively support one of the EuroHockey Foundation’s three core objective focus areas:

  • Gender Focus
  • Urban Integration
  • Intellectual Disability

These grants are designed to accelerate delivery on the ground, enabling local organisations, clubs, NGOs, schools, and community partners to turn identified needs into practical, inclusive hockey‑led social impact projects.

Purpose

  • The Scoring Goals Grant exists to identify and activate local solutions where hockey can be used as a tool for social good. By providing targeted, co‑funding support, the grant helps communities:
  • Create safe and accessible places to play
  • Remove barriers to participation for under‑represented groups
  • Deliver people‑focused programmes that improve health, inclusion, education, and equality
  • Projects must align clearly with at least one of the three objective areas and demonstrate direct public benefit.

Grant Characteristics

  • Small grants awarded annually
  • Co‑funding model (match‑funded with local authorities, NGOs, clubs, or other partners)
  • Time‑bound projects with a clear delivery plan
  • Designed to start or scale initiatives already rooted in community need
  • Flexible enough to respond to local contexts, while aligned to Foundation objectives

  • Temporary or permanent activation of safe play spaces using hockey as the engagement tool

Expected Impact

  • Each funded project must demonstrate measurable outcomes aligned with the Foundation’s impact framework, including:
  • Increased access to sport and physical activity
  • Improved social connection and wellbeing
  • Stronger community engagement and local ownership
  • Clear contribution to one of the Foundation’s social objective areas
  • The Scoring Goals Grant is a catalyst: small, focused investment that unlocks meaningful local change.
